MZS is organized in globally networked Competence Units: (1) industry-analysis, (2) solution-definition, and (3) software-development Competence Units, in which the selected industries and know-how of the company is collected and continuously updated. Only by ensuring the combination of all Competence Units know-how can we remain a step ahead of the competition.

In our industry-analysis Competence Units we concentrate know-how about selected major industries, strongly dependent on applied science and mathematics - computers and networks, control systems and robotics, engineering in chemistry and medicine, and high-tech consumer goods.

In our solution-definition Competence Units we concentrate specialized knowledge in different fields of applied mathematics - data analysis and statistics, pattern processing and visualization, computational chemistry, neural networks, control theory.

In our software-development Competence Units we concentrate specialized knowledge of software systems analysis, modeling, design, and implementation - including programming of complex algorithms, databases, network communication and Web-oriented interfaces.

Depending on the task at hand, we put together an interdisciplinary project team of industry, solution, and software experts to guarantee an optimum result.

Professors from a variety of institutes and MZS’s software developers have joined forces as members of a virtual faculty that has proved its worth as a platform for solutions, inspiration and innovation. The company has established numerous working relationships with world-class scientific institutions and currently has over 50 academic-members that guarantee results of the highest caliber.

MZS’s international management team has unique skills and access to mathematicians and scientists in Central and Eastern Europe, especially in Poland, Russia and Ukraine. These countries are known from a large number of world-class scientists and mathematicians in well established scientific and research institutions.

Scientific research in Poland is concentrated in 124 institutes of higher education with 51,600 research and teaching personnel; 83 institutes operating within the structure of the Academy of Sciences with 4000 scientists; and 252 R&D centers employing 8400 researchers.

Russian higher education includes over 500 institutes, 313 state universities. Over 380,000 people work in these institutions, including 18,500 doctors of science and 91,000 candidates of science. Over 30% of these universities are concentrated in the central and north- west regions, (Moscow and St Petersburg). Beyond the Urals, Siberia and the Far East also have about 30% of the total universities. Technical sciences (engineering) is by far the most popular subject to study at university in Russia.

The network of higher education consists of 98 universities, 46 academies, and 62 institutes. 37 universities and academies have been awarded the status of the national ones. The universities, academies, institutes are training 1,285,000 students.
